MaxCut for Android? Scan your cutting list into MaxCut with NestCut
MaxCut runs on a Windows computer. If you searched for MaxCut on Android, what you probably need is a way to get the list from your phone into MaxCut without typing it. That's what NestCut does.
How it works
- Scan the handwritten cutting list with NestCut on your Android phone (or type it).
- Check each row against your handwriting and fix anything flagged.
- Tap MaxCut and share the file on WhatsApp, email or Google Drive to the computer that runs MaxCut.
- Import the file into MaxCut's parts list and optimise as usual.
The file uses MaxCut's own import columns: part name, length, width, quantity, material, edging on each of the four sides and grooving, so nothing has to be retyped at the yard.
What a MaxCut-ready cutting list needs
MaxCut optimises what it is given, so the list has to be complete before it reaches the computer. NestCut checks each of these as it reads the paper:
- Length and width in mm, in the order written. The first number is the length, along the grain; NestCut never swaps them.
- Quantity on every row. Rows with a size but no quantity are flagged.
- Material per row, set in bulk for many rows at once, so every part lands on the right board in MaxCut.
- Edging per side (L1, L2, W1, W2), from the X marks on the paper or from the part name.
- Grooves on the edge written on the list.
Long lists over several pages are scanned in one go and exported as one file, kept in paper order, so the yard can follow the handwritten pages while it cuts.
